IV. MISCELLANEOUS
So is this EVERYthing? No, notable exclusions are cassette releases including cassette singles and cassette bootlegs, of which there are countless dozens. We've included every CD and vinyl bootleg from our personal collections as well as others we are aware of but due to the nature of that ever changing genre by no means should our extensive list be considered complete. Many of the bootlegs listed here are readily available from various sources though some are "out-of-print" and difficult to find. By no means should the rest of TURD be considered a complete list of Stone Roses recordings either. Promotional releases of singles is one area where we did our best to include everything but, again, due to the nature of that type of release we no doubt fell short in presenting every Stone Roses promo. (M.S.)
A while back, Mark and I decided to undertake the task of writing The Ultimate Roses Discography for the world known to us. We figured, 2 albums, 6 or 7 singles, a few boots - no problem. Months later, we have reached a plateau, as we have access to no more information. Thus, holes exist, but with research sources sparsely existing, we had to look to our collections for sources. We read nearly every issue of Melody Maker and NME going back to 1988 looking for clues as to dates and songs. Still, you will see holes, and if you know how to fill in blanks, please inform us immediately. Finally, we hope your reading of this brings you half the pleasure we got from writing it, and any comments will be taken to heart. One love, we don't need another love. (C.S.)
