A little about this page

I created this page in the fall of 1994 to fulfill a need. That need was to expose people to the best band in the world. At the time, there was no other web pages devoted to the Roses. I was a Junior in college and was just learning HTML. I set out to make available everything that I had on the Roses.

Over the past couple of years, I have slowly accumulated information and made it available as I received it. There has been a lot of help and I thank everyone who has provided information or help. About the time I was creating my page, a couple of other Roses web pages were created. These were the SRFHQ (Eric Thompson) and John Candy's page. I have been in a sort of competition with these fellows. I commend them and must say that they have done some very nice work.

I must not leave out the many others who have put together pages more recently. It is always nice to know that someone else sees the Roses as I do. Creating and maintaining a page is a lot of work, especially when in college. I realize that I am sometimes slow to update the page. I have sort of left it to Eric to make available the late-breaking news. He seems to be more on top of it than I. Also, I usually don't get news until about a week after it happens as I live in the middle of the U.S.

Last spring I attempted to put together a fairly complete discography. It went pretty well and managed to take up a couple of my weekends. I was pretty pleased with the outcome. Around August, Chris and Mark presented me with The Ultimate Roses Discography (T.U.R.D.). I must say that these guys blew me away. I have since formatted their discography with HTML and incorporated it into Garage Full Of Flowers and have ditched mine. You guys did some great work.

I gave the page the new look over Christmas break of 1996-1997. I wanted to give it a new look that I will be able to keep for a long time. During this time, I finally decided on a name for my page. I took it from a) the song Tell Me, b) the recent bootleg, c) the Roses' occasional pseudonym and d) the inspiral carpets album of the same name (I forget where I read about this one, but it was supposed to have been named that in respect to the Roses).

I will close with saying that The Stone Roses are and always will be my favorite band. It is sad that they went out the way they did. They did provide us with some of the most incredible music ever. Although the Roses are gone, we will always have the music.

peace
