music and sonic induction
music is feasibly one of the most important things in existance. the more we learn about quantum physics and 'reality', it becomes increasingly apparent that everything we perceive is completely wrong (kind of). what seperates atom_a (which is part of a wall) from atom_b (which is part of your face) when you walk into the wall? the truth is -- nothing at all. the boundries of space an 'objectness' are figments of our imagination. in reality, we are walking around in a huge cloud of particles all moving together in certain patterns. each particle moves in a specific wave pattern. each wave pattern has a specific cycle duration and range which defines it's frequency. when one wave pattern intersects another, they both change to compensate for the other.
music is the act of controlling sound frequencies. frequencies are frequencies... when you sing a note or pluck a guitar string or drop a glass everything in the universe changes. it creates a ripple effect like throwing a rock in a pond. try throwing a whole handful of gravel in at once and you will begin to understand what is going on around us.
sometimes the disruption of a wave by another wave will cause a third wave to spontaneously appear (mapping the intersection points of the first two waves)... this is called a sympathetic vibration. it could also be called magic... or it could be called music. i personally prefer to call what i do 'sonic induction'.
seals of similar size is almost completely digital music with human vocals. the music has many different elements/ styles/ genres represented in it.the main influences are synth pop, dance, industrial, and punk. although seals of similiar size has a unique and distictive sound of it's own, it has been said to sound like a variety of bands (depeche mode, new order, crystal method, nine inch nails, the KLF/Jams/Timelords, faith no more, was (not was), information society, etc.).
