or How Hitler Helped to Enlighten the World the expedition Early in the morning of June 6th of 1944, the mighty vessel Klammeren set out from it's port. It contained a strange cargo, and bore an even stranger heading. This boat was headed for Antarctica and contained some of Germany's top archaeologists, anthropologists, and geologists. They were part of a special and very secret organization within the Nazi's hierarchy. It was their orders to research ancient mysteries and retrieve lost artifacts. They had been on many excavations, some were successful, many were not. This time, they were going to Antarctica to explore the possibility that it was in fact the sunken continent of Atlantis. They were working off of ancient maps attributed to Pere Ries, which showed the continent devoid of ice and had drawin gs of many strange animals and people on the land masses. After long months of voyage at sea they finally landed and began to set up camp. They divided into five groups of fifteen, with a group of twelve staying aboard the ship, and spread out at strategic points to settle and begin their research. The digging began three days later, and all went well and according to plan until one of the geologists came across an underground cave! Here is an excerpt from his notes describing what he found: "Important discovery. Ogdendorf and Wegel, working underground at 9:23pm with light, found monstrous seal-shaped fossils of wholly unknown nature: probably vegetable unless overgrown specimen of unknown marine radiata. Tissue evidently preserved by minera l salts. Tough as leather, but astonishing flexibility retained in places. Eight feet end to end, 3.5 feet central diameter, tapering to 1 foot at one end. All greatly damaged but one, which gives almost seven-foot flipper spread. Arrangement reminds one of certain monsters of primal myth, especially fabled Elder Things in Necronomicron. Ends of body shrivelled, giving no clue to interior." Further excavation of the cave discovered 36 additional specimens, all fully intact. Found buried near the bodies were a variety of strangely shaped vessels and tools, none of which gave any clue as to their use. The creatures were brought to the surface that evening. Further examination would begin in the morning. the awakening An urgent radio call woke the camp at 3:37 am that morning. Allied submarines had been sighted on the ship's radar bearing a direct course for their position. Everyone was requested to return to the ship for an emergency action conference. A young hand, named Svlad Cjelli, was appointed to stay behind and guard the camp and it's finds while the rest of the team returned to the ship. Growing cold, Svlad built a fire near where the exhumed creatures were stored. The bodies began to thaw... Luckily, the submarines changed course and began headed back north, and the crew returned to their camps. Ogdendorf began to examine one of the specimens noting carefully it's size and shape. There were a variety of strange markings around the head, shou lders, and tail of the creature. They looked strangely familiar... much like a simplified form of Arabic writing. He retrieved an Arabic Lexicon form the bookshelf and attempted to translate the markings. He stood above the creature quietly mumbling the A rabic words as he translated them. Finally, he had translated all the markings except for one strange "S" shaped symbol on the creature's forehead. He touched his finger to the line and traced along it's shape. As he did this, the symbol began to glow with a peculiar greenish light. The creature stirred and writhed, emitting strangled gasps and honks. Ogdendorf backed away from the specimen barley a ble to believe what he had just witnessed. The seal turned on it's side and half-coughed half-vomited a sticky green substance. It then righted itself and opened it's eyes. It swung it's head around taking in it's new surroundings and the threw it's head back and let out a deep ear splitting cry. It turned away from Ogdendorf and went to the other seals. It began a series of honks and squeals the sounded strangely like similar to the words Ogdendorf had just been mumbling, all the while waving it's flippe rs in a "S" shaped pattern. The other seals returned to life with the same process as the first. Ogdendorf ran screaming to the other's tents telling of what he had just observed. By the time the men had rallied themselves, the seals were all fully revived and had found their tools. The seals began roaring and making strange a-rhythmic sounds with their instruments. The group of men stopped suddenly when the sounds began, unable t o move a muscle. The seals intensified their sonic assault and the men fell to their knees, clutching their skulls. Wegel, being partially deaf, was able to withstand the noise better than the others, and ran to the radio frantically attempting to contact the other camps. The other camps listened with horror to the sound of their friends and colleagues screaming with the even more horrible cacophony of the seals in the background. Wegel was able to form a few sensible words saying, "Der Kraft!... Mein Go tt, def Kraft sind so gros! Ewige... Ewige.. EWIGE!!! Nicht mehr, bitte.. Kann ich nicht mehr... Achggg... Der Ewige Sturm!... Zeit und Sterne, nicht mehr!!! Helfen mich! BITTE HELFEN MICH!..." boy meets seal The other camps fearing for their lives hurriedly returned to the ship and set course back to Germany. They assumed all was lost of that group. But what they did not know, was that through all of the destruction, young Svlad slept peacefully. In the morn ing, Svlad awoke to find a massive seal looming above him waving it's flippers. He looked around him and saw the dead bodies and that he had been stripped naked and was covered in strange symbols. The seal was chanting in a strange language and waving it' s flippers in intricate patterns. The seal stopped, looked directly at him, and said one word: "Illium!" Svlad the heard the sound of many soft voices saying hello to him, welcoming him, and was overwhelmed with a feeling of peace. He realized all at once what had happened and who these seals were. They were the last survivors of a species the once dominated this planet hundred of thousands of years ago. He saw images flashing past his eyes of a great calamity. Walls of water 100 f eet high crashing down on helpless victims... an entire continent covered with water. The moon crossed the sky during mid-day, zigzagged, and then headed back the other way. Then the snows came and everywhere there were frozen statues huddled against the ground. A strong and powerful ritual, and a long sleep. And now, he was one of them. The seals explained to him (he heard them with his ears as barks and claps, but heard them internally as gentle human voices) that they were so very sorry that the humans had died. They explained that it was not the music they made that killed the other men, it was thier socially programmed intolerance of chaos. The seals began to play again and at first is was unnerving and almost painful to hear, but then he found such a beautiful melody floating in between the notes, that he begged them to not stop pl aying. And thus became Illium, the first human ever to understand the seals. Illium lived there for many years with the seals. He had built himself a small boat from the skins, bones and clothing of his dead friends. He studied with the seals to learn their mus ic. But what an over simplification! It was more than mere music. It was life incarnate! The seals explained that sine everything was connected, the creation of a sound caused that vibration to reverberate throughout the entire universe, and that with car efully planned and executed songs, one could make anything happen! "Why then", Illium asked, "did you not stop the destruction of the other seals?" A slight wave of sadness washed over him and the seals explained. They could not prevent what had happened , because they had indirectly caused it! There was a strong disharmonic current flowing through the universe in those times. This current was going to cause horrible things to happen. Whole worlds and solar systems would be destroyed! Our solar system was one of those destined for destruction. Unfortunately, they realized this too late, and though they were able to stop much of the damage, doing so caused the equivalent of a feedback wave to destroy the fourth planet (now an asteroid belt), and wreak immense tidal havoc on Earth. boy meets world So amazed by his new knowledge, illium resolved to bring this knowledge to the rest of the world. The seals warned him of the dangers that he faced. People would no understand! They were too easily swayed by the teachings of their governments and religion s! They would stop at nothing to keep this kind of truth from being accepted! But illium would not be deterred. He knew he could make them understand and they would be so grateful afterwards, that they would do anything to help spread his message. "But how will you do this", the seals asked. "Through music, as you have shown me!", he replied emphatically. "But you saw how the other reacted! They cannot tolerate our music!" Illium thought on this for a while and eventually cam to the solution. "The humans", he said, "have a form of music that they call ‘Pop'. When a human hears this music they are instantly and uncontrollably compelled to dance. Their minds go into a very receptive state at this point, and anything can be said and accepted as truth! I will use this music to implant our message into their minds!" "But is this a reliable technique?", the seals asked. "Very reliable! Their governments and economic warlords have been using this technique for many years to control and influence the masses..." With this in his mind, illium left the seals behind and set forth in his boat to liberate the human world. Thus was born seals of simliar size. The rest is future... |
