the band Morgante's Dogs is a band. They have been described by various genre toungue twisters, such as trashy-lounge, punk-jazz, electro-swing-funk, gumshoe-soul, and other less sensible compounds. They approach the stage and music as down-to-earth professionals who understand the importantance of a solid groove, well tuned instruments, abstract love songs, and a sharp suit and tie. Thier music is well rehearsed and composed, but never played exactly the same way twice. Every live performance is a unique sculpture. They draw heavily from the hot jazz sounds of the 1930's, the raw energy of James Brown's funk music, the electronic drum and synth of 80's pop and 90's hip-hop.
