EMPLOYER / JOB DESCRIPTION Monsanto - Software Developer
After a brief stint as a bike mechanic, I have returned to the real world to work at Monsanto writing Java software, and doing database stuff. The group I work for doesn't produce transgenic crops, but uses modern genetic methods to gather information to do traditional breeding better.
MARITAL STATUS Married (04 was and 05 will be the years of the Los Weddings) I still get the job done.

YEARS RIDING ROAD Since summer 1999
YEARS RIDING MOUNTAIN Since summer 1996
BEST MOUNTAIN BIKING EXPERIENCE My third ride at berryman. During my semester of trying to recover from a summer of lazy weight gain. Did 35 miles of road during the week, so I figured I was going to have a good base to try and beat my current record of about 9 of the 24 total miles at berryman. Started off a little too fast, was sucking wind too early. Had to bail going around a corner and got my front left brake pad stuck under my rim. Fixed that and started to pace myself a little better. California Ian and I decided not to try the entire trail, but to skip the center section, hit the bail out road and do the last section. The last 2 or 3 miles where an extreme effort on my part to keep moving. Ended up doing 19 miles. Felt good, tired, but good.
As a side note I have since completed the Berryman. The last part was grueling, but good

Been doing a bit of singlespeed riding lately. My singlespeed is an old Nishiki frame with a rigid fork. The experience is cool since it is very basic. No shifting, no suspension, just pedal and brake. The best (so far) had to have been when josh convinced me that Chubb trail (about 14 miles, two good hills, some very technical spots) was singlespeed-able.

And then adulthood hit. I bought a house, got married, no kid as of yet, but thats not far behind. Now my best riding experience is when I wipe the dust off my bike.

WORST MOUNTAIN BIKING EXPERIENCE Riding back to KMNR with some food under one hand, moved control hand off the bar for a second, hit a slightly recessed man-hole cover, lost control, landed hard on my shoulder and broke my collarbone. Off the bike for 3 months, bone didn't heal right.
FAVORITE PRE-RIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE Water and a french bread/ pb, jelly, honey, choc chip, raisin samich (thats right samich).
FAVORITE POST-RIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE Ice cold coke. A quick swig of honey to prevent blacking out while I cook something with beans and rice in it.
FAVORITE BEER Shiner Bock
FAVORITE HARD LIQUOR Gin, as in and Tonic
MALT LIQUOR OF CHOICE Does Dr. Pepper count as malt liquor?
